TITLE: A Street Cat Named Bob

DESCRIPTION: 2016 British drama based on the true story of a recovering drug addict who befriends a stray cat.

DIRECTED BY: Roger Spottiswoode (Turner & Hooch, Tomorrow Never Dies)

WRITTEN BY: Tim John and Maria Nation based on the book by James Bowen. The author has a cameo at the book signing.

MY TAKE: It was okay. It's meant to be inspirational but I couldn't get past the cat. The whole thing was just too goofy for me. Felt like a bad SNL skit. I kicked heroin, found love and reconnected with my father...with the help of a fat orange cat.

NOTES:
  • Filmed in London.
  • Broke even at the box office. Making $8 million on a budget of $8 million.
  • Won a National Film Award for Best British Film.
  • Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor has a cameo as the face in the mirror.
